OK, I usually start a batch of cookies by making sure I have everything I need. Here is the list I use.
- 1 kitchen (it's the room all the baking stuff is in. if you can't find one, give up now.)
- 1 power mixer (I use a Sunbeam MixMaster, but anything is better than a wooden spoon.)
- hardware for mixer (bowl, beaters, power cord...)
- 1 rubber scraper (I had a home ec. teacher that would kill you for calling those "spatulas".)
- 1 teaspoon (the kind you measure with, not the long-handled things.)
- 1 measuring cup (you know, the pyrex thing)
- 2 baking sheets (they look like sheet metal.)
- 1 oven (with associated hardware.)
- 1 spatula (the long metal whippy thing, not a rubber scraper.)
- 2 plates (if you don't know, give up. now.)
I think I'm forgetting something.... oh yeah. oops.
- 2 eggs (little roundish white things.)
- 3/4cup of brown sugar (soft, brown, sweet stuff)
- 3/4cup of white sugar (hard, white, sweet stuff)
- 1 cup crisco, butter, etc. (you aren't still reading these, are you?)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (it comes in these cute little bottles...)
- 2 1/4 cups of all purpose flour (soft, white, puffy stuff)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda (soft, white, salty stuff, usually in an orange box)
- 2 cups chocolate chips (the justification of baking)
